Molecular science targets all kinds of molecules and their assemblies, and aims to elucidate the origin of specific properties and functions based on their structural information. Since its establishment in 2006, the Japan Society for Molecular Science (JSMS) has contributed to the development of science and culture through the promotion of research and education in molecular science. Currently, JSMS has nearly 1,700 individual members and 20 supporting members. The Annual Meeting of JSMS, held in every September, is the largest event organized by the JSMS, with more than 1,000 participants and 600–800 presentations. Participants can obtain the latest information on molecular science through presentations of the latest research results, lively discussions, and equipment exhibits by related companies and supporting members. It is also an important opportunity for young researchers and students to showcase their daily efforts and achievements. As a continuation of our outreach activities, we will provide opportunities to interact with high school students interested in science. We sincerely look forward to your active participation to the 18th Annual Meeting.
